Bizarre behaviour concerns outside school

At the October Gilberdyke Parish Council meeting it was reported that a male resident of the village had been taking photographs outside the school entrance while the children were going to and leaving the school gates. A number of parents had been upset about this and some verbally complained to Parish Councillors.

The Parish Council were unable to take any action without a formal letter or written complaint but recommend that any resident who is concerned about such photographic activity should contact the Police (via the 999 service) to ask for action to stop this photography and investigate the motives of individuals concerned. The threat of paedophilia seems to be on everyones mind when activities around our children are questioned, however proper investigation by trained police officers is required and it is important that conclusions are correctly reached.

  1. Seems to me that little thought had gone into his actions which is repeated over and over again. Why is he doing this and not first consulting with either the Ward Councillor or the Parish Council. Does the village have another person trying to do good deads. But having read his letter he is suggesting enforcement beyond the scope of the Highways Act and road markings which contrevense the highway code. Perhaps he wants to re-write this next.

  2. A loose cannon comes to mind and someone who does not understand the first principles of consultation but he is the first to accuse others of poor consultation and not complying with codes of practice. He does not follow best practices, I could make this a political speach but that would be pointless as is his attitude to the people of Gilberdyke. What a tit.

  3. I hope someone makes a formal complaint about this as there are known restrictions/ risks of someone doing this for obvious reasons.

  4. Since this matter surfaced it has become known that the individual taking photographs is a resident of the village. He is allegedly investigating the traffic and parking problems outside the school and has suggested in a leaflet to the residents opposite the school that zig-zag lines be painted in front of their houses. Sadly this suggestion would result in 24 hour/7 days a week restrictins and would prevent the affected residents being able to park outside their homes at any time. Needless to say objections to this idea has been received!
